Sadly the prof hasen't shown up until now (the course should have started 2 weeks ago but he's been ill so he sent his assistant) We are to read Amphitruo by Plautus (in German), which I already did. and we're told to look for "Greek elements" (not sure about the correct English translation) in this "comedy" - I don't know if that's the right term.
I didn't think we would read translations at all.. I've bought a bilingual edition (if that's how you say it in English..) and hope to read it in Latin too - if I find the time.
Hopefully we'll learn more about what we'll be reading tomorrow :) I'm sure I will post about it excitedly! ;) I also wish I could have taken more Latin courses but alas they didn't fit with my other plans :(
oh and he reccomended those books: -M. Fuhrmann: Geschichte der römischen Literatur -C.B.Conte: Latin Literature: A History I guess I'll take a look at them.
